What is Boudoir Portraiture?

About boudoir portraiture: Boudoir photos are private and seductive in nature. They are tasteful, sensual and sexy photos that you may take for your significant other or just because you are proud of your body and want to remember how you look.

What to wear: I suggest you have multiple outfit selections, sexy lingerie, stockings, high heels and anything that makes you feel sexy. Jewelry is also a great addition for your photos.

Getting ready for your session: When preparing for your session I recommend you pamper yourself. Consider getting your nails, hair and makeup done. Also make sure you get a good nights sleep the day prior to minimize bags or dark areas under your eyes.

Location: I shoot boudoir sessions in my home studio. If you have a different location that you would like to use for your session please let me know. Sessions usually take about 3 hours and I do my best to make sure you are relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera.

Retouching: Each image is digitally retouched before you get them. Editing may consist of any/all of the following:

  • Blemish Removal / Skin Smoothening
  • Stretch Marks / Minor thinning to stomach, arms, and thighs
  • Color enhancements (b&w, vintage, etc) / Eye enhancements
  • Teeth whitening / Tan line removal
  • Tanning or lightening of skin tone / Digital makeup (blush, eye liner, lipstick)

  • Portrait Sessions

    Model/Individual Portraiture Tips-

Wear something that compliments your body, skin tone, and personality. Stay away from logos or designs because they tend to take the focus off of you.

Consider pampering yourself prior to your shoot. Nails, hair and makeup are a great way to really make your photos stand out.

Get a good nights sleep prior to your shoot, this will help keep you from having red veins showing in the white of your eyes, while also minimizing any dark bags under your eyes.

    Group/Family Portraiture Tips-

Stick with colors and styles that compliment each other, props are a great way to have the family interacting in your photos.

Prepare to be "lovey". Loving emotions and actions towards my wife and kids always provoke the most smiles and memories when I look back on my family photos. It is the same thing I want you to have when looking back on yours.
