About the Photographer

I am an active duty U.S. Army Staff Sergeant. I provide service to the Raeford, Fayetteville and Fort Bragg areas of North Carolina.

I have been in the military for over 8 years and served as an Airborne Infantrymen, as well as a Detainment facility guard, Recruiter, and an Information systems specialist. I have been deployed to Iraq multiple times and I truly understand the sacrifice that service members give to protect freedom.

I came to love photography when my sister received a camera for Christmas. I asked to take a picture with the camera and fell in love with digital photography ever since. My passion is taking photos of children, I have three little boys of my own.

My Style

My goal is making sure you are happy with the pictures taken of your photo session. I have a photo journalistic approach to photography. So although I may pose some shots, I like to capture true emotions and feelings by being less obtrusive. It's all about you having a great time and enjoying yourself. That's where I capture those original smiles, and loving looks that you share with your loved one or child. Although I look for uniqeness and originality with each shot, I always make sure I do my best to capture each and every photo that you have requested, including the classic posed style photos. I always do my best to have very quick turn-around times on your photos. I typically have all adjustments, alterations and additional request completed within 1 week of the photo session.

My Equipment

Interested in knowing what kind of equipment I use?

I currently use a Nikon D700 Full frame DSLR camera with 3 lenses. A Nikon 50mm 1.8, a Nikon 85mm 1.8 and a Nikon 80-200 2.8. The lenses are ideal for portraiture, allowing me to capture proportions similar to what the human eye sees. The large apertures ensure I can keep the center of attention on my subject and turn the background into a nice creamy bokeh while also allowing me to tackle less than ideal lighting conditions. The Full Frame camera allows me to utilize high ISO's to ensure I am able to capture even more low light challenging scenarios with minimal noise. For lighting in outdoor environments I use a large reflector/diffuser to keep harsh shadows off of you and provide higher quality directional and fill lighting. For indoor lighting I utilize a mixture of continuous lighting with octa-boxes and studio strobes with shoot through umbrellas.
